Associate Director, Administration and Field Operations - Save the Children - Forrest City, AR
Summary
The Senior Director, Administration and Field Operations, is a senior leadership position in US Programs overseeing all aspects of administration and field operations including operational policies, protocols and training; safety & security; procurement; Gifts-in-Kind; inventory; fleet management; risk management; startup operational planning & execution; operational excellence and continuous improvement; remote worker functional supports, annual planning and agency reporting to ensure USP operates at highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness. The position will oversee development of business plans and operational management practice for new business lines including Head Start and Direct Implementation programs. Additionally, the Senior Director, Administration and Field Operations will be responsible for overseeing planning & execution of administration and logistical support for USP domestic emergency response efforts.
The Senior Director, Administration and Field Operations will operate within a matrix organization to optimize Agency level supports in the areas of Finance (Director), Human Resources (Director), Information Technology and Building Operations and will have a dotted line to the CIO.
The Senior Director, Administration and Field Operations will work directly with USP leadership team to ensure the highest quality planning, support and execution of our work for children including AVP, Programs; AVP, Policy & Advocacy; Senior Director, Head Start; Senior Director, Quality Assurance; Senior Director, Domestic Emergencies; and, Senior Director, Strategic Impact.
The Senior Director will report to the VP, USP and serve on the USP Senior Management team. Direct reports include Manager, Administration; Manager, Head Start Operations; and Manager Operational Excellence.
As the USP leader for Administration and Field Operations, the Senior Director represents Save the Children’s values and principles to both internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Planning , oversees all aspects of administration and field operations, develop policies, protocols and monitors practices. Provide strategic guidance to VP, USP management team. Field Operations, establishes and implement "Best in Class operational plan to support, Head Start, direct implementation and partner based programs. Develop and oversee Program Start-up planning and execution for large scale program expansion. Operational Excellence , lead USP continuous improvement, oversee Agency reporting function, provide thought leadership to USP leadership team in order to increase operational efficiencies. Safety and Security/Risk Management , oversee enhancements to safety and security operational plan that are relevant to USP operations including assessing risk, mitigating liabilities and ensuring the safety of children, staff, proprety and brand. Administration , oversee procurement, inventory, contracts, fleet and remote worker support. Oversee Division continuous improvement initiative Staff Management , directly supervise Manager of Administration, Manager of Head Start Operations and Manager of Operational Excellence Requirements
MBA with min of 8 years in Senior Operational Mangement position. Candidate must have proven experience and measurable results in cost and improvement efficiencies, start up experience preferred. Prior experience working in non profit, program oriented organization, overseeing multiple locations and field sites strongly preferred.
This could be a field based position or work out of our Westport or Washington DC corporate offices.
