Our Fayetteville, AR location is seeking an experienced CNC Engineering Specialist to play a critical role as part of the Automation Engineering group, optimizing cycle times of existing production programs, coordinating machine service calls and preventative maintenance, responding to CNC alerts, and working with Engineers to roll new products out to production. This position will report to the Automation Engineering Manager.

The CNC Engineering Specialist works closely with the Automation Engineering Manager and CNC Production Technicians to streamline MARSHALLTOWN’s CNC machining processes. The CNC Engineering Specialist plays a critical role by working with engineers and designers to implement workholding for complex part geometries, developing efficient CAM workflows, identifying opportunities for machine cycle time improvements, and implementing reliable processes for the manufacture of new products. Additionally, the CNC Engineering Specialist works with the Tool Room as needed to work through the unique challenges that are presented with prototype and custom equipment/tooling fabrication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Spearheads improvements to the existing CNC workflow in Production.
• Works with Design Engineering, Automation Engineering, and Product Development to establish reliable production processes for new/revised products, from workholding development to release to Production.
• Specifies tooling and works with suppliers to get the right tools for production programs.
• Identifies opportunities to optimize cycle times of existing production programs.
• Interprets 2D mechanical drawings to verify that parts are being produced within tolerance.
• Troubleshoots issues on equipment (as required).
• Responds to CNC Alerts from production (as required).
• Utilizes CAD and CAM software to create production and tool room programs for CNC milling and turning centers (as required).
• Collaborate on designs and processes in a team environment, including formal design reviews

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a CNC production environment plus a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
• 3 years utilizing CAM software, preferred
• 2-4 year technical degree, preferred
• Ability to independently design, program, and prove manufacturing processes for machined parts using CNC and wire EDM equipment
• Experience with programming / ESPRIT software knowledge, a plus
• Experience with programming / HAAS VMCs, Sodic wire EDMs, and Swiss-style lathes, a plus
• CMM experience, a plus
• Ability to interpret 2D mechanical drawings
• Experience that demonstrates strong desire to keep up on current manufacturing technologies
