Dishwasher / Utility - Creative Dining Services - Siloam Springs, AR
Reports to: Service Manager /Executive Chef /Food Service Director
Location: John Brown University
Basic Function
Dishwasher maintains and sanitizes the kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment, utensils, dinnerware and floors in clean and orderly condition.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and equipment to approved sanitation standards
Returning clean items back to their proper location
Sweeping, mopping and performing general cleaning
Putting stock away
Arrives to work on time and in clean, proper uniform
Other Functions/Responsibilities
Reads all information (general, employment, safety, sanitation) on the bulletin boards regularly.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
The Dishwasher position involves continuous physical cleaning work involving the washing of all cooking and serving items and the ability to return them to their proper location. Additional physical tasks will involve ability to wipe surfaces, mop floors, move stock/inventory items. Must follow safe use instructions for cleaning chemicals. Dish crew personnel must be able to assist with a variety of tasks such as food prep and stock room. Environment may include hot, cold, or humid temperatures and wet floors and loud noise.

Education – Skills - Expectations
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required
Ability to perform the physical duties required of the job
Employee working in this position must be willing and able to support the entire kitchen staff in order to serve the customer. Must be willing to engage actively in the physical work of a high quality food service operation. Position requires a positive attitude and ability to multi-task. Expected to determine the cleanliness of all kitchen items, equipment and area, and be willing to re-do tasks to make certain of the cleanliness of these items. All employees are expected to adhere to Employee Handbook policies and procedures.
