Summary : Directs and executes the goals and vision of the sales department; manages all sales people and sales activities for the plant, including specialty purchasing; works closely with General Manager by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must learn and be able to communicate the company story to include communicating to the customer frequently the assets that separate us from the competition.
Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
Directs sales activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Directs the representation of personnel in conjunction with General Manager at trade association meetings to promote product.
Delivers sales presentations and marketing literature to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Leads weekly sales meeting and reports sales activity to management.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Directly supervises Inside/Outside Sales Staff employees in the Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
