User Experience Intern - Undergraduate (Summer 2021) - Anthem, Inc (Arkansas)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

The Anthem Technology Intern Program allows students to gain

real-world work experience in their academic field. During the summer months,

interns will engage in challenging projects evolving around the rapidly changing healthcare tech industry. Interns will be paired with

industry professionals and mentors and will be given opportunities to stretch

their skills and enrich their knowledge base to achieve a greater understanding

within Technology. If the intern performs well throughout the internship, there

will be opportunities for full-time employment once the intern graduates.

Interns will participate in activities to enhance

connection to the company as a whole and encourage personal growth. Some of

these activities include:

+ Formal on-boarding

event for all students to ensure integration to the organization and program

+ A one on one

mentorship with a leader for the duration of the program

+ Cadenced Learning

series to build student’s acumen and focus on learning the business

+ Opportunities to

grow and develop through social and networking events

Technology

Interns will be assigned to a specific group within Digital and Information

Technology based on skill set and need of the business. Projects that

prior User Experience Interns have worked on :include:

+ User Research on Anthem’s mobile and desktop

products

+ Creation of Anthem’s Client Experience Center

+ Creation of in house tools for associate

experience

+ Journey Mapping and rapid prototyping of new

Anthem digital experiences

What we are looking for:

User Experience interns have either front-end or back-end experience

creating user centric applications.

Front-End Experience

+ Experience using tools such as sketch, figma,

adobe xd or similar programs

+ Ability to utilize the Adobe suite for asset

creation and management

+ Prior experience taking conceptions and

executing to an end product

+ User Research to adapt and redefine experiences

Back-End Experience

+ Ability to take design concepts and create user

experiences

+ Coding experience is a plus

(html/CSS/JavaScript)

+ Experience creating wire frames or utilizing

wire frames to create the product

+ Prior experience creating responsive web design

for either mobile or web

Qualifications

+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s

degree with proven record of high achievement

+ Junior or senior

classification with graduation date between August 2021 to May 2022.

+ GPA of 3.0 or

above

+ Advanced user of

Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

+ Energetic

self-starter with willingness to work hard, take on significant and multiple

responsibilities, and with dedication towards excellence and achieving results.

+ Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program

related to interaction design, computer science, graphic design, and web

programming or similar.
