GDIT is seeking **Systems Administrators** who holds active Secret clearance.
The **Global Freight Management** system supports the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) as the surface transportation component of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), which leads the Department of Defense with all of their military transportation requirements.
GDIT provides development, maintenance, and sustainment support for the GFM as partners with the SDDC. GFM is comprised of more than a dozen web-based/cloud-based applications which facilitate the communication between SDDC, shipping businesses, and commercial transport companies in support of the bidding, selection, and coordination of military equipment and personnel requiring transportation anywhere around the world.
The position will support a Department of Defense program that is playing a major role in leveraging the commercial transportation industry to support the movement and relocation of DoD personnel, equipment, and supplies.
As part of this effort, GDIT has deployed software/database development teams leveraging Agile/Scrum processes to deliver updates through repeated sprint cycles. The position requires the successful candidate to provide _system administrator_ support to the various development teams across multiple networked environments.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide maintenance and management support for system and virtual servers in multiple environments (development, testing, production, etc).
+ Install and configure software and hardware as required.
+ Support the preparation and deployment of application releases through the various environments
+ Conduct software and security patching as required.
+ Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
+ Troubleshoot issues and outages
+ Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
+ Upgrade systems with new releases and models
+ Ability to resolve a wide range of system issues, troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues, and address trouble tickets and service tasks
+ Participate in technical exchanges as required
+ Maintain records of daily activities, problems and remedial actions taken, and/or installation activities.
Minimum/General** **Experience/Requirements:
+ 3+ years of supporting RHEL System Admin experience
+ Department of Defense Directive (DoD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification)
+ Experience in administering and maintaining systems support for software, hardware, and servers: test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve all problems
+ Self-Starter, customer focused, adaptable, attention to detail, time management skills, ability to multitask
Preferred Requirements:
+ RHCE or Linux+ certifications (or equivalent)
+ System hardening in accordance with government regulations
+ Experience VMWare platforms (VMWare workstation, ESX, vSphere)
+ Experience with Docker
+ Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Kubernetes
+ Experience with STIG and SCAP tools
+ Exposure to agile tools and processes (eg. Jira)
+ Experience with Centrify or other SSO techniques
+ BASH, Perl, awk or sed scripting
