Job Summary:

The Classroom Support Staff works in cooperation with and under the supervision of the lead classroom teacher to provide individual and group instruction to children in self-help, cognitive, motor, social, and communication skills.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Assists the teacher with classroom management that promotes the development of all children.

2. Works efficiently with assigned teacher so that duties are well coordinated.

3. Provides individual and/or group instruction using appropriate behavior management techniques.

4. Maintains portfolios for children in the classroom.

5. Assists with miscellaneous housekeeping chores including meal preparation and cleanup.

6. Carries out the responsibilities of the teacher assistant in the teacher’s absence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience working with children with a developmental delay or preschool children,, preferred.
• Ability to lift children weighing up to 40 pounds
• Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
