Controller - Southland Gaming & Racing - Delaware North - West Memphis, AR
Southland Gaming & Racing, owned and operated by Delaware North, features more than 1,500 video gaming machines, electronic blackjack tables, a poker room, live greyhound racing and simulcast wagering. Southland is located in West Memphis, Arkansas, only a short drive from downtown Memphis, Tennessee.

The OpportunityOversee all financial and reporting functions for the unit including accounting, payroll, annual plan, audit assistance and cash management. Implement and enforce of internal controls; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. In conjunction with the Senior Director of Finance and Corporate Accounting Department, provide unit management with financial analysis of the operation.
Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including supervision of accounting personnel; preparation, review and approval of: Daily Sales Report, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management and accounts payable. Ensure paperwork gets processed accurately, timely, with correct numbers. Analyze and report variances, monthly financial projections, month-end accounting duties, oversee audit requirements and cash management Prepare external reports to State agencies, and internal reports which outline unit's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings; provide proper preparation of statements after consultation with appropriate Corporate Management. Communicate with various corporate headquarter departments including accounting, financial planning and analysis, in exchange of information. Work closely with these departments to identify and resolve issues. Ensure compliance with State pari-mutuel rules and regulations and interface with state officials regarding game issues. implement and enforce of internal controls; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. In conjunction with Senior Director of Finance and GM, coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual plan budget and financial forecast. Coordinate year-end financial statement audit. Analyze and interpret accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the unit All other duties as assigned.Successful Candidates will have:
Bachelor's Degree Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience required. Previous supervisory experience required. Previous related experience in gaming/racing environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Analytical abilities, good planning & organizational skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Ability to communicate with staff and management regarding financials Strong computer skills, including MS Office, and PeopleSoft Financials or similar accounting software Operations Experience, especially in a hospitality environment, helpful Who We AreTake your career beyond the ordinary—to the extraordinary.
