Sr Analyst - Advanced Analytics (Walmart) - PepsiCo - Rogers, AR
The PepsiCo-Walmart Strategy and Analytics team leads initiatives that encompass strategy, advanced analytics, capability building, and operational excellence for our largest customer globally, Walmart, Inc. (i.e., Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, and Walmart International). We employ a hypothesis-led and data-driven methodology to identify and execute strategic and tactical initiatives that improve performance across all three of PepsiCo’s business units (i.e., Frito-Lay, North American Nutrition, and Pepsi Beverages) for the broader PepsiCo-Walmart, Inc. customer team.
The advanced analytics team is seeking an individual who has strong coding skills in using C# .NET framework that wants to expand into data analytics and data science.
The individual will spend time building and maintaining our in-house planogram platform and leverage analytical and critical reasoning to solve complex, multidimensional problems using quantitative information and applying statistical and machine learning techniques.
The Senior Analyst of Advanced Analytics will report to the Director of Advanced Analytics, working collaboratively with the Strategy and Analytics team and with the broader Walmart, Inc. customer team. The Senior Analyst of Advanced Analytics will work with team members to determine the best systems for managing an internal data warehouse that supports state-of-the-art analytics and the development of new capabilities in customer strategy, business intelligence, and advanced analytics. Working as a member of the PepsiCo-Walmart Strategy and Analytics team will provide the Senior Analyst with an uncommon opportunity to gain experience that is highly-valued in the broader PepsiCo organization. He/she will work across all three of PepsiCo’s business units - Frito-Lay, North American Nutrition, and Pepsi Beverages - while simultaneously serving the company’s largest global customer, Walmart Inc., whose operations span multiple channels and both domestic and international markets.
Responsibilities:
Platform (80%) Expand and maintain in-house planogram/reporting platform built using C# .NET framework Work with advisor team on enhancing platform to fit needs from each relay Expand platform to new categories Apply machine learning techniques into planogram platform Analytics (20%) Cleaning/transforming data used for analyses Use problem solving methodologies to propose creative solutions to solve business problem Identify, collect, and explore the right data used for predictive modeling and algorithm development Design and develop state-of-the-art data-driven analyses using statistical & advanced analytics methodologies to solve business problems Build, validate, and test predictive models using machine learning techniques to explain or predict behavior and solve a variety of business and engineering problems. Ability to apply statistical techniques to time series data to interpret the underlying variables impacting salesB.S./M.S. in quantitative discipline required (e.g. computer science, mathematics, operations research, statistics, engineering, etc.) 3-5 years of coding experience in C#, specifically using the .net framework 2+ years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data and team/project management Expert-level querying skills using SQL languages such as: SQL or Hive or Presto. Knowledge using window functions, joins and sub-queries SQL or Presto or Hive or PostgreSQL Experience in R or Python or similar language Understanding in the application of statistical methods such as general linear model, ANOVA, decision trees, linear regression, Bayesian, clustering/ML techniques and analysis Willingness to learn visualization tools Tableau experience preferred A team player, who thrives on working collaboratively, inspiring others and bringing out the best in others Work in ambiguous environment and establish new pathways and processes Manage, managing multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously Exceptional project management and organizational skills Understanding of how BI stacks work (Hadoop, Pig, Scala, Spark), ingestion/ETL/storage/Connectors to applications preferred but not required
