Primary Objective:
Provide professional SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DCS (Distributed Control System), PLC (Programmable Logic Contollers) and Control System engineering services associated with Domestic and International Onshore and Offshore assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, document, implement and maintain essential SCADA and control systems and components for electric power and distribution networks. Provide appropriate and timely technical advice on matters relating to SCADA and control systems. Carry out duties in accordance with Murphy’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies. Assist with preparing cost estimates, budget, and contracts for consultants. Complete engineering design, testing, and commissioning of facility instrumentation and control systems. Perform engineering tasks using established procedures, these include but are not limited to, equipment selection, schematic design, system layout, cost estimation and system documentation. Automation and SCADA project planning, scheduling and budgeting based upon project commissioning and start-up schedule. Insure accuracy and reliability of instrumentation, SCADA, control and safety systems. Work closely with company personnel to optimize facility efficiency and reliability. Generate system architecture and automation network drawings. Maintain regular contacts with colleagues throughout company (e.g. onshore, offshore, and international assets). Assist operations with issues that arise with control equipment offshore.Selection criteria Essential:
Engineering qualification (Electrical, Electronic or similar) or equivalent. Developed interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to interact effectively with onshore and offshore operations. Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults on critical equipment. Ability to prepare technical and non-technical documentation. Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, P&ID prints, blue prints and control systems. Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of software packages, operating systems and equipment.Desirable:
Knowledge of SCADA and control systems and components used for onshore and offshore. Knowledge of Master Control Station (MCS). Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Knowledge of DCS Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Knowledge of structured programming, communication techniques and protocols. Knowledge of data communications protocols, networking equipment and computer operating systems such as Windows and Unix, including Cisco or Microsoft certified qualifications.
