Joining our supportive team within a friendly and welcoming environment, you will assist with the provision of professional high quality midwifery care within the Mount Gambier Hospital. Working across the continuum of antenatal, birth and postnatal care, including care of babies in the neonatal nursery, you will work primarily as a Registered Midwife but may also be involved in the care of paediatric patients. Specialist obstetric and paediatric support at Mount Gambier Hospital allows both complicated and uncomplicated births from 34 weeks gestation. Working in partnership with women, you will respect and support their right to self- determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. In Country Health SA, we have established the continuity of care practice as standard. Dedicated to caseload midwifery, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Country Health SA is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice, including the ability to care for women in labour, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery in a rural healthcare setting.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
